LABORATORY
The laboratory at CRMC provides accurate diagnostic test results and support services in a timely and cost-effective manner to our customers.
Our laboratory is CLIA certified to provide testing for Medicare and Medicaid programs, as well as all other Insurance Programs. Our Laboratory has established a comprehensive quality control program to monitor precision, reliability and accuracy for all testing. The Laboratory Department is committed to improving quality, processes, turnaround times and customer service. Laboratory tests are performed upon the written order of a licensed healthcare provider.

Hours of operation
Our Lab is open 7am – 5pm Monday – Friday. The department is staffed on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for Emergency needs.

Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation and Serology
Routine hematology, chemistry and urinalysis test are performed in house. In addition, we perform a variety of specialized test including cardiac markers, therapeutic drug levels, and drugs of abuse screening.

Routine coagulation test include Protime/INR, APTT and D-Dimer testing.
​
Routine serology test such as Mono test, Urine pregnancy test, Strep A, Influenza A&B, RSV and C-Diff are available.
12 hour fasting is recommended for most Chemistry test including fasting blood sugar and Lipid profile which includes, Cholesterol, Triglycerides and HDL.

Specialty test such as Arthritis Profile, Anemia Profile, Vitamin D to name a few are sent to our Reference Lab, which may take several days longer.

Microbiology
Microbiology specimens including Urine cultures, Blood cultures and Wound cultures are collected and sent to our Reference Lab.

Transfusion Medicine
Our transfusion service maintains an inventory of blood for transfusion to our inpatients and outpatients. We routinely stock red blood cells of most blood types. Fresh Frozen plasma, Platelets and specially prepared red cell units are available by special order for the American Red Cross in Wichita, Ks.

Pathology/Cytology
The laboratory processes surgically removed tissue and collects cytology samples for interpretation by the consulting pathologist at Kansas Pathology Consultants of Wichita, Ks.

Occupational Services
The laboratory is a collection site for DOT and non-DOT drug testing. Breath alcohol test (BAT) is also available.

Cardiac Monitoring
The laboratory performs EKG’s and Holter Monitor hookup, which are reviewed by a licensed provider.
